A case study of English-Vietnamese translation of the narrative Uncle Tom's Cabin via the appraisal theory

This paper aims at investigating the Vietnamese translation and comparing them with the source texts via the Appraisal Theory (Martin & White, 2005). More specifically, the research’s objectives are to discover the proportion of the appraisal resources in the source text and the target text, and the differences between the appraisal instances in the source text and the target text.
