Knowledge of hand hygiene as the single most important precautionary measure to reduce nosocomial and healthcare associated infections. We carried out a study to assess the knowledge, attitudes, practices and satisfaction of facilities available to health care workers amongst residents and nurses in our institute. A cross-sectional, paperquestionnaire was administered to explore the knowledge of, and attitudes towards, hand hygiene practices.
