Then click to select all of the cells in the column.Selecting all cells in columnThe Cell tab in the Table Inspector is automatically selected.5 In the Table Inspector, click the Color field to select the field and display the Colorpalette.6 In the Color palette, type 99CC99 in the Value text box, and press Enter or Return.The selected color appears in the preview pane of the Color palette and the Color field inthe Table Inspector. In addition, the color of the selected cells changes to green.7 In the document window, click in the blank space outside the table to deselect all ofits cells.Sorting the contents of a tableGoLive makes it easy for you to sort the contents of a table, so that the contents of its rowsor columns appear in alphabetical or numerical order. You can apply the sort to an entiretable, specific rows, specific columns, or specific cells.Now you’ll use the Select tab of the Table palette to sort the contents of the table.1 Move the pointer to the left edge of the table, and click to select the table.2 In the Table palette, click the Select tab. (Choose Window > Table palette to open theTable palette if necessary.)180 LESSON 4 Working with Text and Tables 3 In the preview of the table that appears in the Select tab, drag to select all of the table cells except the cells in the first row, and click Sort. 4 In the Sort Table dialog box, choose Rows from the Sort pop-up menu to indicate that you want to sort the order of the rows in the table. By sorting the order of the rows, you will make the contents of one or more columns appear in numerical or alphabetical order. 5 In the top leftmost Sort By pop-up menu, choose Column1 to specify the first column as the primary column to be used when sorting the table’s contents. This means that sorting the contents of the first column will be the first priority for GoLive. You’ll specify for the first column to be sorted in ascending order. 6 Make sure that Ascending is selected from the pop-menu on the Sort By line. Because the table only has two columns, you don’t need to specify a secondary or tertiary column (Then By option) to be used when sorting the table’s contents. Sorting the contents of the second column will automatically be the second priority for GoLive. ADOBE GOLIVE 6.0 181 Classroom in a Book7 Click OK to sort the selected table cells using the criteria that you’ve specified.8 Click outside the table to deselect it, and choose File > Save.Applying fontsWhen you create text for a Web page in GoLive, you can choose whether to let the user’sbrowser select the default font to be used when viewing your page or you can define apreferred font set.The default in GoLive is to let the user’s browser determine which font is used. You cancheck what fonts or font sets, if any, have been used on a page using the Type menu.1 In the appraise.html document, choose Type > Font. Notice that Default Font isselected because you haven’t applied any particular font. This means that the user’s Webbrowser will select the default font to use when viewing your Web page.182 LESSON 4 Working with Text and Tables GoLive contains default sets of fonts that you can apply to text in your documents. One set contains the Times New Roman, Georgia, and Times fonts. If you use this set for your Web page, a visitor’s browser will attempt to display text first in Times New Roman, second in Georgia, and third in Times. If none of the fonts in the set is installed on the viewer’s system, the browser displays text using its default font. Because all the other pages on the Gage Vintage Guitars Web site were created using the Arial font set as the preferred font set, you’ll change the font of the entire page. 2 Click anywhere in the text on the appraise.html page to insert a cursor.
