Plants are continuously affected by a variety ofenvironmental factors. Whereas biotic environmentalfactors are other organisms such as symbionts,parasites, pathogens, herbivores, andcompetitors, abiotic factors include parametersand resources which determine plant growth liketemperature, relative humidity, light, availabilityof water, mineral nutrients, and CO 2 , as well aswind, ionizing radiation, or pollutants (Schulzeet al. 2002 ) .
