Genetic architecture through diallel analysis in chickpea for yield and related traits

Yield in chickpea is influenced by many different components including number of primary branches per plant, number of secondary branches per plant, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, seed yield per plant and many other traits. All of these traits can potentially be improved through selection as long as there is sufficient genetic variation.
