By adopting a few simple techniques, parents who read to their children can considerablyincrease their childrens language d evelopment. It is surprising, b ut true. Ho w p arents talk to theirchildren makes a b ig d ifference in t he childrens language development. If a parent encourages thechild to actively respond to what the parent is reading, the childs language skills increase. A study was d one with two or three-year-old children and their parents.
