Mục đích nghiên cứu là để hiểu rõ về những trải nghiệm trong cuộc sống của thanh thiếu niên ở Hải Phòng, những suy nghĩ và tình cảm của họ về vấn đề tự tử của lớp trẻ Việt Nam, có được cái nhìn sâu sắc, tường tận đối với những ý kiến, suy nghĩ và tình cảm của các bậc cha mẹ về vấn đề tự tử của giới trẻ Việt Nam và hiểu rõ những trải nghiệm của các chuyên gia tư vấn cộng đồng, công an, nhân viên chăm sóc sức khỏe.

Haûi Phoøng, Vieät Nam Chöông trình nghieân cöùu cuûa UNICEF Vieät Nam Uyû ban Daân soá, Gia ñình vaø treû em (CPFC) Muïc ñích nghieân cöùu laø ñeå hieåu roõ veà nhöõng traûi nghieäm trong cuoäc soáng cuûa thanh thieáu nieân ôû Haûi Phoøng, nhöõng suy nghó vaø tình caûm cuûa hoï veà vaán ñeà töï töû cuûa lôùp treû Vieät Nam, coù ñöôïc caùi nhìn saâu saéc, töôøng taän ñoái vôùi nhöõng yù kieán, suy nghó, vaø tình caûm cuûa caùc baäc cha meï veà vaán ñeà töï töû cuûa giôùi treû Vieät Nam vaø hieåu roõ nhöõng traûi nghieäm cuûa caùc chuyeân gia tö vaán coäng ñoàng, coâng an, nhaân vieân chaêm soùc söùc khoeû. Nghieân cöùu naøy ñöôïc thöïc hieän vôùi 154 ngöôøi tham gia thuoäc hai quaän: An Laõo vaø Kieán An. Caùc taùc giaû ñaõ keát hôïp nghieân cöùu ñònh tính vaø ñieàu tra ngaãu nhieân, xaùc ñònh vaø toång keát caùc nghieân cöùu tröôùc ñaây lieân quan ñeán yù ñònh, haønh vi töï töû, cuõng nhö caùc aûnh höôûng cuûa söï xaâm haïi treû. Coâng trình nghieân cöùu naøy thöïc söï khoâng theå ñöa ra caâu traû lôøi chính xaùc cho caâu hoûi taïi sao nhöõng ngöôøi treû tuoåi laïi nghó ñeán caùi cheát, vaø coá gaéng töï töû. Tuy nhieân, noù cung caáp moät caùch tieáp caän thuù vò veà ñeà taøi naøy trong boái caûnh rieâng cuûa Vieät Nam. Cuõng nhö vaäy, nghieân cöùu khoâng theå thieát laäp lieân keát giöõa hieän töôïng töï töû ôû giôùi treû vaø caùc kyù öùc bò ngöôïc ñaõi ôû treû em, nhöng noù giuùp chuùng ta tin raèng moái lieân heä naøy thöïc söï toàn taïi. Coù nhöõng keát quaû ñieàu tra thuù vò veà quan ñieåm cuûa ngöôøi tham gia phoûng vaán veà caùc kyù öùc bò ngöôïc ñaõi ôû treû ñöôïc ñöa ra, thuù vò nhaát laø nhöõng treû ít tuoåi nhaát laïi toû ra hieåu roõ nhaát nhöõng haønh vi theá naøo thì ñöôïc coi laø ngöôïc ñaõi. Laïi coù nhöõng thaùi ñoä luùng tuùng trong vieäc ñöa ra quan ñieåm veà vaán ñeà naøy trong yù kieán cuûa caùc nhoùm tuoåi khaùc. Nhöõng ngöôøi tham gia phoûng vaán phuïc vuï nghieân cöùu ñeàu toû ra raát quan taâm tôùi chuû ñeà ñöa ra, ñaëc bieät coù moät söï quan taâm saâu saéc veà caùc vaán ñeà cuûa giôùi treû. Hoï thöïc söï quan taâm tôùi nhöõng söùc eùp trong ñôøi soáng treû em vaø thanh thieáu nieân, vaø caùc giaûi phaùp nhaèm choáng laïi nhöõng haønh vi xaâm haïi, töï xaâm haïi. The objectives are to recommend engineering and education solutions in order to create a safe environment in and around schools; to ensure long-term benefits for pupils and to disseminate the project model to other schools nation-wide. The implementation of 3 project components (improving traffic infrastructure, education on traffic safety and enforcement) has brought big and comprehensive impacts, such as improvements of pupils knowledge, awareness and skills on traffic accident prevention. The project is a successful cooperation between government agencies, private businesses and the community (pupils parents and the school). Resolutions from the local authorities and the school play an important role in gaining the project achievements in terms of prevention for accidents and injuries among pupils and the necessity to duplicate this model in other schools nationwide so that effectiveness and benefits of the project could be brought into full play. The purpose of the current study is to begin the process of identifying links between these phenomena and to develop preventative measures that will lead to positive outcomes for Vietnams children. The study was carried out involving 154 participants from two districts: An Lao for participants in the rural area, and Kien An for urban participants. A set of questionnaires, developed for each target group, was designed to elicit information about the issues that pose significant pressure in young peoples lives, awareness of suicide incidence in their community, impressions about the impact of child abuse and victimisation, and their recommendations for changes and developments in support of young people. It is beyond the scope of this survey to provide definitive answers to why young people consider and/or attempt suicide; the report does, however, provide an interesting entry into the topic in a Vietnamese Taïp chí Y teá Coâng coäng, 5.2006, Soá 5 (5) 35 | TOÅNG QUAN & NGHIEÂN CÖÙU | context. Likewise, it is not possible to define whether links exist between youth suicide and child abuse experiences, but responses generated in the study point to a belief that the links exist. Interesting data about the views of the participants to child abuse experiences emerged; it was particularly interesting that the youngest participants seemed to be the clearest of what behaviour was abusive.
