The role of increased body mass index (BMI) in sepsis is controversial. We aimed to evaluate the associations between overweight (25 kg/m2 < BMI ≤ 29.9 kg/m2 ), obese (30 kg/m2 < BMI ≤ 39.9 kg/m2 ) and morbidly obese (BMI > 40 kg/m2 ) BMIs and outcomes in septic patients.
