The C-MYC transcription factor is a proto-oncogene productinvolved in cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis. Localization ofc-myc mRNA to the perinuclear cytoplasm and its association with thecytoskeleton is determined by a signal in the 3¢UTR.
