Received 10/03/2023 Revised 08/04/2023; Accepted 10/05/2023 ABSTRACT In Vietnam, Cochlear Implants (CI) have made a difference in the lives of thousands of deaf children; Indications for implantation of CI have been expanded to children with multiple disabilities, complex deafness cases such as thin auditory nerves, Auditory Neurological Spectrum Disorders (ANSD), opening up hope for many families with deaf children, most have the same expectation that the child will be able to hear and speak after the implantation. Post-implantation outcomes are a range that includes, ideally, a speech-language equivalent of a typical child to the worst outcome of no any change. Post-implantation outcome can be predicted for a candidate if relevant factors are assessed. Usually, as an AVT specialist, participating in pre-implantation counseling, predicting post-im- plantation results will be provided to the family after taking into consideration all relevant factors, these are the challenges for the Hearing Rehabilitation team as well as the family of the candidate. Assessing the factors involved in predicting post-implantation outcomes is a necessary and useful step for the family to reduce unrealistic expectations, and to help the family identify the immediate challenges, be assist in accessing solutions to establish a restorative therapy plan and educate for the smoothest implantation and the best possible outcome. Implant technology is constantly evolving, which challenges us, must be the real professionals of Hearing Rehabilitation, for being the trusted companions for parents of children with hearing loss. We refered the case of 4-year-old pediatric patient who came to the clinic and was diagnosed with profound deafness in both ears. Assigned to wear binaural hearing aids for 3 months follow-up. Experts have consulted, supported and implemented the cochlear implant technology for patientsand achieved positive results.
