Warm- up: Brainstorming. Recess activities B. Presentation: B1: Listen and read: *Pre-reading : - Ss look at the pictures and answer: Where are the children ? What are they doing ? When do they usually do these games ? - Play the tape for the first time, then T explains some new words: recess ( n ) Blindman’s bluff (n ) catch ( n ) marbles ( n ) skip rope ( v ) chat (v ) *While-reading : - T asks Ss listen to the tape again, then asks Ss to work in pairs to practice asking and answering. Example Exchange: S1: What is the boy doing ? S2: He’s playing catch. S1: What are these chilrden doing ? S2: They are talking. - Ss revise the present progressive tense. - Call some pairs to practice aloud. - Give some remarks. *Post-reading : - T asks Ss to work in pairs to ask and answer the questions . + What do you usually do at recess ? + Do you usually talk with their friends ? + What do you usually do after school ? B2: Listen: *Pre-listening: - T tells Ss what they are supposed to do . - T asks Ss to look at the poster and guess. - T writes Ss’prediction on the BB . *While-listening : - T asks Ss to listen to the tape twice to check their prediction . - T asks Ss to compair with their partners . - T calls 1 or 2 Ss to give the answers in front of the class . - Others can make any correction or addition . - Ss listen to the tape once to check their answer . *Keys : Mai is playing catch. Kien is blindman’s bluff. Lan is skipping rope. Ba is playing marbles *Post-listening : - T asks Ss to work in groups of 5 to write a short passage to talk about what Mai, Kien, Lan and Ba are doing E.g : At recess, Ba is playing marbles, Kien.................... 4. Consolidation: Find someone who Name Nam - Play marbles Minh..... Play blindman’s bluff Skip rope Chat Eat Drink - Remind Ss the activities at recess. - Remind Ss the Present Progressive Tense. 5.
