Lesson plans Unit 2: Making arrangements - Lesson 1 Lesson plan 8 Huc Nghi Primary & Secondary School Period 7: UNIT 2: MAKING ARRANGEMENTS Date: 11/9/2015 LESSON 1: LISTEN & READ I. OBJECTIVES: 1. Aim: By the end of the lesson, Ss can talk about the future intention & giving the message on the telephone 2. Knowlege: * Vocabulary: Mobile phone;Fax machine; Telephone directory; Public telephone * Grammar/ Structures: TO BE GOING TO Adverbs of places *Pronunciation: (nếu có) 3. Skills: reading and speaking II. PREPARATION: 1. Teacher: textbook, workbook, lesson plan 2. Student: workbook, textbook, lesson plan III. PROCEDURES: 1. Warm up/Checkup : Greeting Checking attendance Warm up: Ask ss to play the game “Matching game” Use the pictures and the words in the box * Answer: a a fax machine b an answer machine c a mobile phone d an address book e a public telephone f a telephone dire... Pre Presentation : 10ms Hang the pictures set the scene: you are going to * Answers listen to Hoa and Nga’s talk on the phone. It’s a Mobile phone/ Fax machine/ Telephnone directory... Ask ss to discuss the questions We use it when we want to call somebody. + What are they going to do? Work in pairs to ask & answer about the pictures. And some + Where are they going to meet? things which they use to call their friends. + What time are they going to meet? Correct & comment. Give Ss the new words 1. New words downstairs(adv) Ask Ss to repeat the new words in chorus afraid(adj), Ask 2 Ss to read outside (adv) Remark and correct the mistake arrange(v) arrangement(n) agree(v) Present some new structures in the dialogue fine(adj) use(v) Ask Ss to repeat the new structures in chorus of course Ask 2 Ss to read Repeat the new words in chorus Remark and correct the mistake Listen and check Correct by themselves 2. Structures + “ Can/ Could I speak/talk to …, please? + Hold on… + Is 6.30 all right? + Let’s meet outside the theater. Repeat the new structures in chorus Listen and check 2. Whilepresentation: 17ms * Presentation Dialogue: Ask Ss to practice the dialogue in pairs. Listen & repeat after the dialogue. Ask Ss to role play the dialogue in pairs & Practice the dialogue in pairs. correct their pronunciation. Role playing the dialogue in pairs Comment & introduce the grammar. Work in pairs to ask & answer the questions. Ask ss to work in pairs to answer the questions * Answer: using the information from the dialogue a. Nga makes the call? Remark and correct the mistake then give out the b . Nga introduces herself? answer key c. Nga invited the other to the movie? d. Nga arranged a meeting place? e. Hoa arranged the time? f. Nga arranged to the time? 3. Postpractice: 7ms Ask ss some questions 1.What is the name of the movie? Listen and answer 2.Where is it on? 3.What time does it start? 4.How will Hoa go there? IV.
