Subjects and Methods: Implemented using the descriptive retrospective method based on data collected through specialized medical and organ transplant literature channels; Report documents of health sector management agencies; Press and media agencies report on organ donation and transplantation and reports of medical facilities with organ transplant function throughout the country. Results: It was recorded that the whole country performed 7,992 organ transplants, performed at 20 transplant facilities. Of these, 522 liver transplants, 75 heart transplants, 01 Kidney-Pancreas transplant; 01 Heart-Lung block transplant, 09 lung transplants, 02 intestinal transplants and 02 upper limb transplants. The number of transplants from living donors is 7,519, the number of transplants from brain-dead donors is 466 and there are 7 transplants from heart-stopping donors. Since the first coordination case was carried out in 2015, up to now there have been 30 coordination cases carried out, including 18 cases of organ transportation from North to South or from South to North, 10 cases of transporting organs from the South and the North. North to the central region and there are 02 cases transporting from the central region to the remaining two regions. Conclusion: Organ transplantation in Vietnam has achieved many important achievements, confirming that the level of organ retrieval and transplantation in Vietnam is equivalent to other countries in the region. But recent results have not yet reached expectations, as well as other development potentials, especially in the field of donation, retrieval, transplantation, and organs from brain-dead donors. Increasing the donation, retrieval, transplantation, and transplantation of organs from brain-dead donors will be the central goal to aim for in the coming time in the field of organ transplantation in Vietnam.
