The development and widespread use of antibiotics is one of the most important public health interventions of the past century. However, the overuse of antibiotics has led to an increasing rate of antibiotic resistance and has become a leading health concern in many countries. Objectives: We conducted this study with the aim of describing antibiotic use practices of patients undergoing medical examination and treatment at Le Loi General Clinic in 2022. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was implemented from April 2022 - May 2023. A quantitative study conducted interviews with 242 patients. Results: The results show that the percentage of patients with good practice on antibiotic use is 47.9%; 66.9% of patients go to a medical facility or doctor before using antibiotics. 33.1% of patients did not go to medical facilities or doctors before using antibiotics. 91.3% of patients strictly followed the instructions in the prescription. Regarding the treatment when the disease is in remission after 3 days of using antibiotics, 27.3% of patients stopped using the drug and 11.6% of patients shortened the day of use. Conclusion: Due to the results, there are some recommendations as follows: For patients, it is necessary to strictly follow the doctor’s prescription on the type of antibiotic, route of administration, dose and duration of treatment. For Le Loi General Clinic, it is necessary to integrate propaganda and distribute leaflets to the people on the safe and rational use of antibiotics. For the District Department of Health, it is necessary to strengthen supervision and inspection of the implementation of regulations on prescribing and selling prescription drugs in the locality.
