Useful words/expressions: don't worry get to know the patients and how doctors work lo help them there is nothing dangerous should sympathize with people in pain a brave person never feels afraid Talking point : Advice to a person who is afraid of flying and has to go on a long flight : the flight will be soon over other people also take the same flight but they are not afraid why should you be afraid? the travel agency has to guarantee the security and safety of the flight carefully check before taking off nothing to worry enjoy the flight 20 Lesson 34 : EXPRESSING EMOTIONS Learn the expressions given in the tables. UNIT 18 Lesson 35 : SO YOU THINK YOU'RE HONEST? Situation : Advice to a friend who has just bought a new dress for an important occasion. It is too tight for her, the style is too young and the color too harsh. Your dress looks expensive and nice but I'm afraid it is too tight and might make you feel uncomfortable. You're wearing dress it for an important occasion but do you think that its design is suitable for such a formal occasion? Yes, the colour will be wonderful to walk on the beach but as you see you are attending a conference. Why don't you ask for your mother/husband's opinions? Why don't you have a try and decide if you should return it to the store? Lesson 36 : THE LANGUAGE OF ARGUMENT Composition : 'If you can get a free ride from on public transport, good luck to you!'. What do you think of this attitude and why? The speaker of this saying perhaps wants to take advantage of free service. He does not care much for others but for himself/herself. He seems selfish in the sense that he does not appreciate public services. He probably thinks that public means something that belongs to everyone and public things can be taken for granted without showing any positive attitudes towards those who serve him.
